This is an instruction about how to upgrade the old AB300 driver based on the EZUSB.sys to the new one based on the CyUSB3.sys for our AB300 series filter wheels..

If you haven't installed the AB300 software, please install the software first.

Please follow the procedure below for the driver upgrade.

1. Connect your unit to your computer and open the device manager.

2. Browse the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" in the device manager and find the driver for the unit (usually, "AB300 v1,1, SPECTRAL...").

3. Click your mouse's right button on it and click the "Uninstall Device".

4. On the pop-up window (ref., the picture above), check "Delete the driver software for this device" and click the "Uninstall" button.

5. Unplug the unit, download the link below, unzip it, run the "DriverInstall.bat" file in the "\Driver" folder as an administrator, and complete the installation process.

6. Replug the unit, open the device manager, find the "AB300 v3.1, SPECTRAL PRODUCTS, cUSB-2.0..." under
Universal Serial Bus controllers", click your mouse's right button, select the properties, click the "Driver" tab on the pop-up window, click the "Driver Detail" button, and check if the unit was properly recognized as "
AB300b2c_X64.sys".
7. Go to "\DLL\X86\stdcallf" folder in the zip file, copy the "abUSB.dll" file, go to the AB300 software folder (usually, C:\Program Files\AB300Series), rename the "abUSB.dll" in the folder (ex, abUSB.dll_old), and paste the copied "abUSB.dll" file there. Any x86 DLLs are supposed to work with the current AB300 Labview software, but if the stdcall type dll doesn't work, go to "\DLL\X86\cdecl" folder in teh zip file, copy the "abUSB.dll" file, and paste/overwrite this one in the AB300 software folder.

8. When developing a custom AB300 filter wheel program in the 64bit environments, the DLL files in the "\DLL\X64" in teh zip file can be used.
